Frequently Asked Questions

General

Yes, everything you'll find under the Handmade section I made with my own hands. Beads are made of glass, and I use calibrated beads for the most part, as well as natural gemstones, freshwater pearls and others. I use different kinds of thread depending on the project and its specific needs. These include polyethylene thread, nylon thread, silk thread, beading wire, etc.

Please don’t. These are all my original designs and I do not consent to them being remade or replicated. Please don’t copy! It takes me several hours to illustrate and plan, and often a few tries and reworks before honing in on a design. Please enjoy my work respectfully!

At the moment I offer the following options: sterling silver-plated stainless steel, gold-plated stainless steel, sterling silver, argentium silver, or 12k gold-filled ear hooks. I also use gold-filled studs and hoops sometimes. Occasionally it is possible to choose from the options above. If you have a preference for one of these when you're making a purchase, please contact me and I will make the change if available and possible.

I do not offer any bead weaving lessons. I was fortunate to learn a lot from artists in Ecuador, Colombia and Brazil, and if this is an art form that captivates you (which thrills me!) I do encourage you to look to the keepers of these arts and skills, and inform yourself on what is ok for you to make and what is not. I know there are many resources online and such, I urge you to respectfully learn about the meaningfulness of these practices among the peoples that it is culturally important to which are many and all over, but hopefully also find a way to learn where you can properly compensate the artists that are sharing this with you.

I want you to be happy with your beadwork! If something happens to your piece, please do reach out to me and I would be happy to see what I can do about it. Likewise, if you happen to lose one half of your earrings for instance, I would be happy to remake the missing piece for a price.

Beadwork Care

Although these are handmade pieces made with high-quality products, please remember that these are still beaded items made with glass beads and thread that require proper care if they are to last. Please follow these tips in order to preserve their condition and longevity:

  • Store your earrings either hanging and dangling, or laying flat. Thread has memory and it likes to go back to the position that it has been kept in. For this reason, to keep a pretty, flowing and untangled fringe, make sure you store them properly. If the fringe bends, you can gently massage them back into shape, and leave them resting flat or hanging for a while so the thread makes "new memories".
  • For the same reasons, avoid twisting the fringe strands between your fingers as it can cause the thread to tangle up and contort. Never tug at a fringe strand.
  • Avoid exposing your pieces to water for too long as well as submerging them.
  • Store your pieces away from direct sunlight.
  • Keep your pieces away from sharp objects and anything that might catch them and tear them.

Custom Orders

I am open to custom orders when I have space on my make list. This can involve either color preferences on designs you’ve seen from me and liked, or something completely new. Feel free to come to me with an idea, as simple or intricate as you like, and as vague or defined as you got. I'm happy to chat about it.

Pricing will depend on what we're working on, illustration and design, size, materials, intricacy of design, time spent, etc. I will discuss this with you and please know that contacting me with a custom request is in no way binding. At the same time, I reserve the right to decline if necessary.

Shipping and Returns

Ready to ship items will ship 3-5 days after purchase.

Made to order items will ship 3-6 weeks after purchase.

If your order contains both "Ready to ship" and "Made to order" items, they will all ship together within the "Made to order" time-frame.

I truly hope this does not happen, but please understand that once your order is shipped, I no longer have control over it and I unfortunately cannot give you a refund for items that go missing in transit. If this is the case, I recommend filing a complaint with the shipping company. If you're worried about this, I also suggest choosing a shipping option with tracking and insurance at checkout.

All sales are final. I do not accept returns or exchanges at this time. This applies to handmade pieces but also to all other items on my site including beads, materials, pendants, etc. When you're shopping, please bear in mind that certain colors may have slight variations depending on screen settings and lighting.
